START Triage Training

Purpose The purpose of this training is for Burke County Emergency Services to participate in a State wide study for the use of the new START Triage Tags. All employees will need to view the online powerpoint presentation and complete the quiz. Once the quiz has been submitted to your Shift Training Sergeant, 2.0 hours on continuing education will be given. Effective Friday June 2, 2006, any patient being transported for trauma of any kind will receive a START tag. Any trauma, major or minor will receive these tages from 0000 hours through 2400 hours each Friday. The study will ONLY be conducted on Fridays. Hospital staff have already been briefed and will follow up with the appropriate documentation.
